There are 6 Divisions, catering the needs of Plants and industries. Each Division has specific activities to perform.

- CENTER OF PLANT ENGINEERING SERVICES (COPES), Hyderabad
- RECONDITIONING AND REPAIR TECHNIQUES RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTER (RECORD), Mumbai
- ADVANCED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME DIVISION (AMMP), New Delhi
Objectives:
To bring out journal of plant Engineering covering articles and case studies on technological problems related to equipment management in various sectors of industries.
Objectives:
To conduct training programmes for the benefit of plant personnel by way of organsing in plant training, joint programmes, in-house programmes to industries on topics of importance and choice to the user industries.
Objectives:
To provide the principal means of enabling and industry recognized professional qualification at affordable cost to those Industrial technicians and supervisors who do not have the necessary resources and facilities for getting their formal technical qualification through regular stream of Engineering education many practicing Plant Engineers and supervisors to obtain professional qualification.
Objectives:
Serve industry in specialized area of Maintenance management, condition monitoring and Energy conservation.
Division also carries out testing and certification of pressure vessels and lifting equipment as competent organization as per factories act.
Objectives:
To encourage research in management, design and maintainability of plant for maximum utilization and minimizing maintenance costs.
To plan, encourage, build or help to build infrastructure of specialized maintenance services in urban and rural industrial centres
Objectives:
To organize residential programmes at different parts of the country for senior managers from industries to bring awareness about advancement in Maintenance management and help in chalking out policies and plans to achieve higher productivity.
